PM Modi Launches Bharat Tex 2024, Promises Support for Cotton Farmers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the Bharat Tex 2024 at Mandapam in Delhi emphasizing its significance as one of the largest-ever global textile events held in India.

Minister of Textile Piyush Goyal also highlighted the rapid growth of Bharat Mandapam Since its inauguration just seven months ago. He has also proposed the initiation of Phase 2 at both Bharat Mandapam and Yash Bhoomi, suggesting that PM Modi could inaugurate it during his third term.

PM Modi has highlighted India’s stature as one of the largest producers of cotton, jute, and silk globally with millions of farmers engaged in these sectors. He further emphasised the government’s support for the cotton farmers including purchasing quintals of cotton from them and launching initiatives like Kasturi Cotton to promote India’s Textile identity.

Partner and Supporting Partner States

Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra were designated as “Partner States” for the Bharat Tex 2024, and Gujarat, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh joined as “Supporting Partner States”.

Bharat Tex 2024 serves as a platform for collaboration among key stakeholders such as textile manufacturers, artisans, designers and policymakers. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in seminars, exhibitions and interactive sessions.

The Bharat Tex 2024 event underscores India’s position as a global leader in the textile and apparel industry showcasing its rich heritage, and craftsmanship and exploring opportunities for international collaboration and market expansion.
