Technological Advancement

ISRO is currently working on a safe and accurate landing on the challenging terrains of Mars for which a supersonic parachute and sky crane system is deployed after NASA’s successful techniques. ISRO’s engineers are actively working on the design and specialized technology for India’s rover requirements, which includes refining the sky cane system and other components that could stand firm against Mars’s severe climatic conditions.

The most important component of the Mars mission is the conceptual designing of helicopters so that it is fully operational on Mars’ thin atmosphere. The helicopter is fitted with advanced instruments like Marble. It will do aerial exploration and will provide insights about Mars’s atmosphere.

Seamless communication infrastructure

ISRO for seamless communication will deploy a dedicated relay communication satellite, before its launch. This will provide continuous communication despite the distance between Mars and the Earth. The Mars mission will be launched on a heavy lift Launch Vehicle Mark III (LVM- 3).
